Databases and BQS

10 June 2005

In anticipation of Oracle outage on Wednesday, the 15th of June at 08:00 AM, we have defined an "oracle" resource in BQS configuration.

If you access an Oracle DataBase in your jobs, you have to put the option "-l oracle" on qsub command. The resource allows us to lock in queue jobs which need this service.

We have also defined the resources : mysql and pgsql to manage the access to these databases. If you use one of these services you have to put the option "-l mysql" or "-l pgsql" on qsub command.

For example :

qsub -l platform=LINUX,hps,oracle,T=500000,scratch=5GB,M=1GB my_script
