International collaboration on DIRAC at CERN

On 21 and 22 January 2026, two agents from the Computing Centre took part in an international hackathon organised at CERN in Switzerland. This event brought together developers from Europe and CERN to discuss the DIRAC software.

These two days of work were devoted to DIRAC and preparing for its transition to DIRACX, the new version of the software. Beyond the technical aspects, the aim was also to improve the organisation of collaborative work between the various international teams.

On this occasion, the SCRUM development method was introduced in order to opt for a more orderly way of working.

This workshop also provided a valuable opportunity for direct collaboration with the project’s main developers and for asking in-depth questions.

Beyond the technical aspects, these face-to-face meetings strengthen the links between partners and facilitate international coordination, which is essential for such complex software.
